Yesterday we held our very first Summer Inspiration registration event for 2026—and what an incredible turnout we had! With such a wide variety of camp options available, we’re committed to helping every child discover a program that excites them, fuels their creativity, and turns their summer into an inspiring adventure. We’re excited to create meaningful, memorable experiences for all Summer Inspiration participants and help make this summer truly unforgettable!
If you weren’t able to join us yesterday, we are offering two additional registration opportunities: Monday, March 30th from 7:30 AM–12:30 PM and Tuesday, April 14th from 12:30 PM–4:30 PM, both at the Board of Education office. Tomorrow (Monday, March 16th) will be a Virtual School Day for all PCCSS students.
Join us for the 2nd Annual Bloom & Thrive Festival on April 2nd from 4:00- 5:30 at the Putnam County Recreation Department. This event is designed to provide families and students with an opportunity to connect with teachers, school staff, and community resources in a welcoming and engaging environment.
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy:
🌸Meeting and connecting with teachers and school staff
🌷Health check stations
🌼Activities for children
🌹Face painting
🪻Popcorn and refreshments
🪷Gifts and giveaways
💐Learning resources organized by grade level
Teachers representing Head Start through 6th grade will be in attendance to meet upcoming students and families, helping to build early connections and support a smooth transition into the next school year. To help kick off this special celebration, several members of our Central Office staff from the Board of Education visited Putnam County Primary School to read to our Head Start and Pre‑K classes. Our youngest learners loved listening to stories and sharing in the joy of reading!
Read Across America is a nationwide initiative that encourages children to discover the magic of books and develop a lifelong love of reading. Moments like these—where students hear stories read aloud, ask questions, and make connections—help build early literacy skills and spark imagination.
We are proud to support literacy from the very beginning and grateful to our staff for taking the time to make this week extra special for our students. 📖
